Traditional Basque roots but with an avant-garde twist. This is Gorka Txapartegui's motto who together with his brother Kepa form a critically acclaimed team within the world of Basque cuisine. They have even been awarded one Michelin star. Some of their innovative dishes include lobster from Hondarribia and salad with 'Xixas'.
There is a wonderful wine list with more than 200 wines to choose from. Their uncle runs the wine service.
All this in a very pleasant atmosphere in an old, historic hotel the 'Alameda' in Hondarribia.
The rest of the family help out in the dining room giving this restaurant a very welcoming atmosphere.
