Jockey Restaurant in Madrid

This restaurant is one of Madrid's institutions, providing luxury together with exquisite cuisine. For over 40 years it has played host to Madrid's social elite and Spain's most distinguished guests.

Jockey and Horcher belong to a generation of restaurants in Madrid which represent the best gastronomy in the capital if not the country. Clodoaldo Cortés, the founder of Jockey in 1945, worked for the elite in the' Hotel Ritz' or in Alfonso XIII de Sevilla. Names such as Clemencio Fuentes can be added to Jockey and this restaurant has been responsible for organising lunches and dinners for the country's most important dinners and events.

Jockey restaurant has spent 40 years at the head of the list of the capital's best restaurants, according to some with French influences and according to others Spanish influences. Many have been suprised by the magic of this restaurant, even Paul Bocouse.






 






Similar to Horcher the menu continues to be quite conventional something which pleases some but attracts criticism from others. Quality and unquestionable professionality have made this one of the best restaurants in the country not to mention the use of only the best ingredients.

Esteban Sánchez continues to be in charge of the kitchen. His most recognised contribution being his excellent use of game in many dishes which are all expertly prepared. However his conservative approach has cost him criticial acclaim in gastronomic guides.

Th excellent service is directed by Carmelo Pérez. A selection of over 600 wines from all over the world. Prices in accordance.

Tuétano con patata, foie y salsa de champagne. Colas de cangrejo con costrones de pan frito. Ensalada de atún marinado a la pimienta verde. Ensalada verde de bogavante con nueces. Langostinos crudos al caviar con crema fresca. Rodaballo asado con verduras crujientes. Perdiz escabechada a la gelée de oloroso. Pularda asada a la broche. Solomillo de venado con migas dulces al P.X. Crêps de amaretto caramelizado o de frutas del tiempo. Soufflé frío de café.
